Keratin in Cultured Keratinocytes

This preparation consists of cultured keratinocytes processed for triple-labeling using indirect immunofluorescence. Keratin filaments are highlighted by the red chromophore, while desmoplakin, a major desmosomal component, is highlighted by the green chromophore (note that yellow implies an overlap between the red and green channels). The blue chromophore reflects the location of nuclear DNA. This micrograph was provided by Kathleen J Green, Dept. of Pathology, Northwestern University School of Medicine in Chicago, IL.
