Hair Follicles immunostained for Keratin 17

Immunostaining of a paraffin-embedded tissue section from 3 day-old mouse backskin using a rabbit polyclonal antibody to keratin 17 (K17). Bound primary antibodies are detected using a peroxidase-based detection method producing a brownish-colored deposit. Positive immunoreactivity is seen in the outer root sheath and a distinct polarization within the matrix portion to the side opposite to the direction of hair follicle outgrowth.
