Real.Uncomfortable.Humor.
Editor-In-Chief: Mike BrooksNot really sure who this is... |
Vice President: Patrick FarrellPat, a Junior has been an integral part of the success of the BNBJ in the past two years. He quickly became acquainted with the financial and administrative side of the BNBJ during his career as Secretary, and will continue to help me next year as it looks to be our most exciting year yet.. |
Secretary/Treasurer: Andrew CampagnoloAndrew was born and raised in the proud northern state of New Jersey. He came to Baltimore after years of toil and struggle on the mean streets of suburbia. After a failed attempt at starting his own shrimp fishing company, Andrew decided to enroll at Johns Hopkins in the hopes of a brighter future. In his spare time, Andrew enjoys playing competitive croquet, searching for the fountain of youth, and laying out issues of the Black & Blue Jay. |
Production Manager: Andrew GriffithAndrew Griffith is a production manager for the Black and Blue Jay. He was born and raised (until he was 2) in San Francisco, California. He then lived the rest of his days in Seattle, Washington (until he was 9). He now resides in Denver, Colorado. He likes to think that his west coast upbringing makes him funnier than you. Today, Andrew takes breaks from his exciting life in the Mile High City only to grace Charm City with his presence during the fall and spring semesters. He can often be seen around campus doing a variety of things such as, going to and from class, going to and from the library, and going to and from campus activities. So if you see him around, say hi, or don't. Those are the two options. |
Production Manager: Jake AppetJake "Hot Chocolate" Appet, a rising sophomore, is a production manager for the Black and Blue Jay who recently moved back to New Jersey, a real shithole.Although he is not pre-med, if you are an old person and frame the question by saying "so, John Hopkins..... pre-med, huh?", he will probably just say "yeah." Jake's astonishing rise to the comedy elite (Black and Blue Jay Staff) is made even more surprising by the fact that Jake didn't tell his first joke until he was 16 years old. After another two year break, Jake is now telling jokes full-time. Despite appearing to have a comfortable life, Jake has to overcome adversity every day in order to write comedy, such as not being funny. In addition to writing the wrong, Jake enjoys recreation and interaction. |
Distribution Manager: Greg FernandezGreg, a junior, has done a great job as distribution manager over the past year, and we have seen our legitimacy grow exponentially through what he has done to get us out there. Sean, also a junior, was general distributor this year, has really exceeded expectations, and has stepped up in fantastic ways. Together, these two will work to increase circulation, improve distribution, and coordinate the difficult process which is the circulation of the paper. |
Distribution Manager: Sean MonagleSeamus Monagle is one of the distribution managers for The Black & Blue Jay.Have a need for hubcaps, bootleg DVDs or Shamwow? he's your man. When he's not on the job, Seamus lives up to his Irish heritage by partying all over Hopkins (he especially enjoys CVP simply because it has the word Pub in the title).Seamus is also an avid golfer and poker player. His two goals in life are to win the Main Event at the World Series of Poker five times in a row and to earn two Darwin Awards. |
Distribution Manager: Kevin HoIn west Detroit born and raised, On the playground was where I spent most of my days, Chillin' out maxin' relaxin' all cool, And all shootin some b-ball outside of the school, When a couple of guys, Who were up to no good, Startin making trouble in my neighborhood, I got in one little fight and my mom got scared, She said we're movin' you to Baltimore under Johns Hopkins' care. |
Distribution Manager: Eric FiedlerI like cows. |
Photo Editor: John PontolilloJohn Ponts, a junior, has spent one year with the BNBJ, and has produced the finest work ever to grace the pages of the BNBJ. Gone are the days of bootleg photoshopping by Drew in the 11th hour, as John's ability to produce professional, hilarious material in a clutch, timely manner has been a huge contributor to the paper's success this year, and will continue to be so in the future. |
Director of Promotions/Webmaster: Steve WangSteve, a senior, started with the organization in 2008, and is a jack of all trades. With his godlike reflexes and vast technological acumen, Steve can defend against a group of bloodthirsty ninjas while simultaneously updating the website on his iPhone. Added to a wild and often uncontrollable imagination, Steve will, no doubt, be the best Director of Promotions/Webmaster this organization has ever seen. |
Director of Promotions: Shawn MurraneA rising senior from Clifton Park, NY, Shawn Murrane joined the Black and Blue Jay in December 2008. Currently the only African American on staff, Shawn heavily benefited from the Editorial Staff’s affirmative action policies - which landed him his position as co-director of promotions within two weeks of joining the team. Shawn’s innate disposition to “do dat thang off the hizzie” and break into dance made him an ideal candidate to be the Black and Blue Jay hype-man. Shawn’s contribution to the Black and Blue Jay have been remarkable. He has brought, not only a newfound respect for other cultures amongst the staff but also, a deep seeded obsession with big asses. |
Director of Recuitment: Rishi TrivediRishi, a junior, has been involved with the BNBJ for two years now as writer, lay-out specialist, and most recently as director of recruitment. He has a great feel for the organization, and his outstanding people skills and ability not to lose papers will make for our greatest year of recruitment. |
Writer: Douglas RossDoug is a loving Presbyterian, a good brother, native of D.C., native of New York, native of Michigan, thief of Peter's toy cammo tank, coercer of Milo-who-shit-in-his-own-back-bushes, occasional lover and literati, read Dante's Inferno, thought they'd grant Beelzebub more Canto-time in the last bit there but still thought it was good, told Avrilgrl52 when he was twelve that he was fifteen that she looked exactly like Avril, even though she was a bit lumpier, with shorter hair, bit more stretch, went to Cranbrook Kingswood, that was cute, proms had chocolate fountains, classrooms had little enviable pricks who got Audis, though he got a Ford, it was sturdy enough, "The Fusion", fusing what, Ford's senseless interior design with Jr. Ford's Eighth Grade sketch of a Batmobile, anyway, now there's Johns Hopkins and The Premiere Satirical News Publication to Revive The Premiere Satirical News Publication, itself, a staff writer, happy to skew, Goodnight. |
Writer: Mac SchwerinSuck it. |
Writer: Rick CarrickHuh? |
BNBJ Emeritus: Drew LefkofThat's right you heard him. Suck it. |
Director of Alumni Relations: Galen DrukeGalen Druke does not actually attend Johns Hopkins, nor does he actually write for the Black and Blue Jay. Although his position is called Director of Alumni Relations, it is not quite clear what exactly that entails. In fact, Galen himself doesn't even know what alumni is or how to direct it or relate to it. You would probably like to know why then Galen has a bio or a position in the Black and Blue Jay or a spot at a some what prestigious University. While some blame affirmative action, Galen insists that it is purely due to his undeniable charm and boyishly good looks. If you know him, you can make your own opinion. If you don't, disregard all of this because you will probably never meet him and he sure as hell does not want to meet you. All in all Galen is a really good guy, or is at least really good at pretending to be a good guy. If you see him around campus, although you probably won't, be sure to say hello. He is a 6'6" ebony anaconda with corn rows and has a toddler named Jamaal. |
